GreenTech Boston

The City of Boston has made a real commitment to sustainable development through the adoption of stringent green building standards, by expanding recycling efforts, buying renewable energy, setting aggressive green house gas reduction goals, and expanding and improving green space.

To complement these efforts, the Boston Redevelopment Authority launched a new GreenTech business development desk at the Boston Redevelopment Authority in 2008 to attract green businesses to Boston, while helping existing small to mid-sized businesses green their operations.

Boston is frequently ranked among the top locations globally for cleantech business development.  Indeed, Boston’s growing cleantech cluster includes renewable energy system component manufacturers, climate change adaptation consulting groups, energy management ventures, energy efficient product designers, green building design and engineering shops, as well as an array of cleantech venture capital firms and R&D institutions.

GreenTech also helps business leaders navigate utility energy efficiency incentive programs, explore renewable energy options, and tap green workforce training resources.
